What Causes a Cold?
Babies are susceptible to colds because their immune system is simply not strong enough to fight off the virus….yet! It means it can often feel like as soon as they’ve got rid of one cold, they’ve caught another!
They’re easily caught as when someone sneezes or coughs tiny water droplets that contain the cold virus are released into the air, and your then breathes that in.
(Note to self – cover mouth when sneezing or coughing, wash hands and throw away any tissues).
Most colds get better in 5 to 7 days, but can take up to 2 weeks in small children.
